Screen printing on bottles in large volumes will only survive by using UV curable inks and printing of the bottles at high speed. Due to the new European regulations heavy metals are soon no longer or hardly allowed in enamels. The quality demands of the customers of screen printed glass become more severe.
Printing with UV curable inks is competitive in price with other decoration methods because of the high speed of the PLSservo-UV screen printing machine.
Another reduction of costs: less floor space because of the elimination of the lehr (approx. 180 m2). Only a quick UV curing of the inks on the machine is required.
In close cooperation with RevTech-Technology (Evirogluv TM)and Fusion UV Systems, Inc., Rosario developed a high speed printing line. RevTech has taken care of their UV curable ink technology, called Envirogluv (TM) and Fusion is responsible for the UV technology and the supply of the special Fusion F600 UV lamps.
The decoration of bottles at high speed (150 bottles per minute) and with an excellent colour-to-colour registration of the printed images is now possible.
